Writing your poster paper

Obtaining the files

Instructions and all necessary files for preparing your poster are made available as a tar package. There are three ways to get this package:
  1. Download from our www-server using your browser
  2. Download from our ftp-server using your browser
  3. Download "by hand" from our ftp-server.
To download using your www-browser, just use the links given above and perform the usual steps to save something on disk instead of displaying it in the browser. With netscape on Unix, this is done by holding Shift while clicking on the link.

To download "by hand", follow these instructions:

> ftp ftp.aip.de
Name: anonymous
Password: youremailaddress
ftp> cd pub/users/iau200
ftp> binary
ftp> get iau200posters.tar.Z
ftp> quit

Unpacking the tar package

To unpack the tar package, use the following command:
zcat iau200posters.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
Some browsers try to be clever and uncompress the file for you. If the name of the file you got is "iau200posters.tar" (without the ".Z"), use this command to unpack its contents:
tar -xvf iau200posters.tar
A directory "iau200posters" will be created containing the following files:
  aas2pp4.sty iau200p.sty
  aastex.tex instructions.fig1.ps
  epsf.sty instructions200.ps
  example.fig1.ps instructions200.tex
  example.tex
Print instructions200.ps to get the instructions on how to format and submit your paper.
