My research focused on characterising the gas in the Universe filling the space between galaxies, the so-called intergalactic medium, at high redshift from both an observational and theoretical point of view.

Biography

I started my undergraduate studies at the Astronomy Department of the University of Padova (Italy). Upon completion of the basic studies in mathematics, physics and astronomy, I moved to the Institute for Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Potsdam (Germany) where I completed by undergraduate studies and received the Master degree in Astronomy from the University of Padova. After the successful defense of my Master thesis I started at the Astrophysical Institute Potsdam (AIP) my PhD project in extragalactic astrophysics.
