- This list is to be used for any technical discussion related to the
implementation of groundbased robotic astronomical telescopes, irrespective
of wavelength domain, aperture, science focus etc.
- This list is not to be used for commercial purposes under any
circumstances, with the sole exception of job ads, products or services
which are directly related to robotic telescopes in professional astronomy.
If you are in any doubt, please check with the moderator first.
- If you reply to a roboast posting using the generic reply facility
on your mail client, this will normally send the reply to the roboast
mailing list. If you wish to reply only to the person who posted the original
message, you must be careful to set the appropriate address yourself.
- All messages posted to roboast must be approved by the moderator.
This is to prevent the unauthorised posting of messages to roboast by
such parties as mass-mailing companies. Postings to roboast will be
delayed by the time that it takes the moderators to react. This will depend
on such factors as time zones, weekends, vacations and travel schedules.
This inconvenience is the price we pay for a high signal-to-noise ratio in
the group.
- Points (2) and (3) occasionally mean that the moderators are asked
to approve messages which appear not to belong on roboast at large - that
is, they appear to be direct replies to a specific person inadvertantly sent
to roboast itself. Under these circumstances, we shall ask the poster to
confirm the posting.
- Assistance with using the mailing list software can be obtained by
sending an empty email to roboast-help@aip.de.
- The list of subscribers is not available.
