Better guiding due to an updated modelling algorithm

The picture to the left shows an average of 1460 individual guiding frames obtained at a two-hour exposure on a 12.5mag (V) star. Higher-performing algorithms on modelling the spilled-over light on the pinhole entrance allows now for lower S/N on individual guider frames, thus increasing the guider frequency, which, in turn, leads to a more smooth tracking of the telescope. From modelling the light loss on this average image, a final displacement of the stellar image of only 0.37 arcseconds with respect to the pinhole could be deduced.  The total light loss is below 20%.
