Magnetohydrodynamics and Turbulence
Cosmic Phenomena are often magnetically conditioned. Complicated streams of matter in cosmic objects can multiply even small seed magnetic fields. The research activities are therefore mainly focused on the dynamo theory of planets, stars and galaxies, which are observed at the interplay with magnetic instabilities. The generation of differential rotation is another topic and key ingredient to dynamo models. Numerical simulations also concern star formation and galaxies. In stellar radiation zones, magnetic instabilities can trigger strong angular momentum transport and may be crucial for the theory of stellar evolution.
