High performance computing

Numerical Astrophysics demands enormous computational power. Simulations in cosmology, stellar physics and MHD are running on Top500 computers worldwide. Development of simulation code ( Nirvana, Amiga, Co5bold ), preparation and optimisation for hugh simulations and post data processing are done at AIP facilities. Three clusters and a huge amount of data storage (240TB) are maintained at AIP. We provide and use resources within the AstroGrid-D.
