Participating Teams

The seven teams taking part in the network, the specific research projects they are leading, and the responsible
scientists, are listed in the following table: more information on each team can be found by following the links.

  Team:    Astrophysikalisches Institut Potsdam, Germany
Project: The spatial, luminosity, and mass distributions of young clusters
  Contact: Mark McCaughrean

Team:    Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, Firenze, Italy
Project: Clusters as probes of early stellar evolution
  Contact: Daniele Galli

Team:    Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge, England
Project: Building the initial mass function through competitive accretion
  Contact: Cathie Clarke

Team:   Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Cardiff, Wales
Project: The evolution of disks in dense stellar clusters
  Contact: Ant Whitworth

Team:    Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de l'Observatoire de Grenoble, France
Project: The statistical properties of young binary stars
  Contact: Jerôme Bouvier

Team:    Observatório Astronómico de Lisboa, Portugal
Project: The formation of small stellar systems in isolated cores
  Contact: João Lin Yun

Team:    Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique, Direction des Sciences de la Matière, Saclay, France
Project: The initial conditions for cluster-mode star formation in dense molecular clouds
  Contact: Philippe André

Each project will involve a combination of observational and theoretical work in a web of overlapping  collaborations between the teams: a key goal of the network is to broaden the skills of the young researchers through these collaborations and the series of joint workshops and conferences that will be held over the lifetime of the network.
