How to get to the hotel?

Walk out from the main train station "Potsdam Hauptbahnhof" and you will see the hotel: it is a high-rise building, you cannot miss it.
If you arrive by plane at Berlin-Tegel, the best way is to take a taxi.

(By the way, this map was done for an IAU Symposium last year. You will find also other hotels and even the conference place marked here. Don't be confused! The only important marks for you are hotel Mercure and AIP.)

How to get from the hotel to the institute?

There is a direct connection between the hotel Mercure and AIP by public transport with bus no. "694 Griebnitzsee" leaving from the main train station "Potsdam Hauptbahnhof" every 20 minutes between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.. You will find 3 possible stops of this bus to get in at the station:

  1. "Hauptbahnhof-Süd" (Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse): leaving at _:10, _:30, _:50
    Here you will find also other bus and several tram stops.
  2. "Hauptbahnhof-West" (on the bridge "Lange Brücke", nearest to the hotel): leaving at _:12, _:32, _:52
  3. "Hauptbahnhof-Nord" (Babelsberger Str.): leaving at _:14, _:34, _:54

Get off at the bus stop "Sternwarte".

On the right-hand side you will see our institute. Please come to the new building. In front of the door is a bell-post (small white column), ring at "SEKRETARIAT Wissenschaftlicher Vorstand". Christiane Rein will let you in.

To get back to the hotel use bus no. 694 in direction "Küsselstrasse", leaving in front of the West entrance every 20 minutes at _:14, _:34, _:54.
