DESCRIPTION:Title: Multi-scale nature and consequences of solar eruptions\
n\nAbstract: The Sun is an active star that manifests its activity in vari
ous manners. The most prominent forms of solar eruptions are flares and co
ronal mass ejections (CMEs). This seminar will first give an overview of C
MEs and their internal structure from global to kinetic scales\, introduci
ng the key concepts such as shock waves\, sheath\, and magnetic flux ropes
. Then their consequences are discussed. These structures each cause disti
nct variations in the heliospheric plasma and field conditions that can di
sturb the planetary environments in distinct ways.\n
