Library

The Library on the Research Campus Babelsberg; March 2004 (Credits: M. Hassenpflug, AIP). Until 1945, the dome of today’s library building held a 122 cm reflector telescope which was the second largest of Europe, yet unique in Germany. It was operated for 20 years in Babelsberg. After that it was taken for reparations to the Crimea. The dome was renovated as part of a heritage protected ensemble, and has been used as a library since 2002.
