average of 84 individual guiding frames on a bright source

Basler Ace GigE camera for fiber viewing

As the Unibrain firewire camera used for fiber viewing and spill-over guiding had to be replaced, we took the opportunity to update the guiding system to a new type of video-camera, with smaller pixels and a more reliable performance due to its direct connection to the ethernet. The frame to the left is an average of 84 frames obtained during guiding on a relatively bright, RV standard star. The post-fitted light losses indicate an average displacement of the target star of 0.29 arcsec with respect to the pinhole, and a total loss of 24%.
