Publications from ADS

The new AIP website can automatically download publications from the NASA ADS. Once a day, those peer-reviewed publications are loaded from the ADS for which at least one author has added the AIP as his/her affiliation. Additionally for each paper a request is also sent to doi.org for getting further metadata.

If you miss a publication, first make sure that you have entered the institute name correctly and that your name is spelled correctly. Otherwise the publication cannot be correctly identified and assigned. Missing papers can be added on request (webmaster@aip.de, please provide the DOI). It is also possible to manually adjust the institute affiliation as well as create the link to an AIP member on request. If a publication is wrongly assigned or should not be listed at all, please contact webmaster@aip.de as well.

ADS libraries

In order to ensure that all AIP papers can be found in the future, you can also create a library with your publications yourself at the ADS service and enter the link to it in your account settings. This link can then be displayed on your member page as well as your section's publications page.

Section and group heads can also specify an ADS library for the entire section/group on the section page.

It is also possible to enter a link to an ADS library on project pages.

In the future, the web application will be adapted in such a way that, in addition to the institute query, it will also query the ADS libraries of the sections, members and projects and, if necessary, complete the publications stored in the web application.

Note to sorting publications by date

Publications are sorted by date in the lists on the home page, section pages and member pages, so the most recent publications should be listed first. However, the dates for the publications vary: there is a publication date from the ADS (contains only month and year) as well as an online publication date, print publication date and publication date from doi.org, with the publication date from doi.org usually being the earliest date. However, it also happens that only the publication date from ADS is given. Therefore, the ADS publication date is used for sorting the entries.
