Long Night of the Sciences

Experience the history of science up close: In the historic cupola of the Great Refractor, interested visitors can admire one of the largest refracting telescopes in the world. Scientists from the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) give exciting insights into modern astronomy in lectures (in German). Atmospheric music fills the room with a special atmosphere before, after dark and in the case of clear skies, the guests become observers themselves under expert guidance and can take a look through the telescope into the vastness of the cosmos.
