Terms of Use for AIP's Identity Provider

Declaration of consent

The accessed site belongs to the Identity Provider (IdP) of the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP).

The IdP is used for secure logon to services, so-called Service Providers (SP), which are available via DFN-AAI. For this purpose, the IdP is connected to the user directory of the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP).

The authentication and authorization infrastructure DFN-AAI is managed by DFN-Verein. It creates the necessary trust relationship and the organizational-technical framework for the exchange of user information between institutions (IdP) and service providers (SP operators) in DFN-AAI.

As part of the login process, the IdP first authenticates the user. This is usually done by entering the user ID and a password. The verification of your login data is always done at the IdP of the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP). These credentials are not transferred to an SP. Subsequently, the data required for the use of the SP (so-called attributes) are transferred to the respective SP. These can be, for example, the name, the e-mail address or the group affiliation within the AIP (student, employee, ...).

To implement the principle of data minimization, many SPs require only SP-specific, persistent pseudonymous identifiers instead of plain names. To implement this, these identifiers are generated by the IdP as part of the login process and stored permanently. By checking the box below this text, you consent to the IdP storing the information associated with this. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending a statement to the operator of the IdP, with an e-mail to support@aip.de. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.
