Title: New physics in the large-scale structure

Abstract: Motivated in part by recent results from DESI as well as theory developments, I will talk about two new-physics scenarios that can be probed with large-scale structure: (i) clustering dark energy and (ii) mixed dark matter. (i) We have recently performed the first simulations that treat clustering dark energy fully nonlinearly as an effective fluid, solving for this additional, gravitationally coupled fluid via an extension of the cosmological hydro code RAMSES. I will present the motivation for clustering dark energy and first results from these simulations. (ii) Dark matter could well be composed of multiple (dark) components, a scenario which is much less well studied than various single-component dark matter candidates. I will discuss what signatures such a scenario leaves in large-scale structure, and what discovery space of dark physics still exists in in the large-scale structure.
