Precision mechanics workshop

The precision mechanics workshop is part of the Technical Section and supports instrumentation projects with the manufacturing of precision parts, their integration into assemblies as well as complete devices and maintains both historical and modern instruments of the institute.

Production is carried out according to design drawings and 3D models in the available modern drilling, turning and milling machinery on machines equipped with modern control technology and software for the most part. Mainly aluminum alloys, stainless steel, but also Invar or plastics are processed.

In addition, the workshop supervises the apprenticeship training for the profession of precision mechanics offered by the Technical Section on conventional machine tools and CNC machines.
