Various events take place at the AIP on the Babelsberg campus or at its historic site on Potsdam's Telegrafenberg. In addition, virtual formats are accessible from all over the world.
Babelsberg Starry Nights
During the winter half-year 2025/26, some lectures in the ‘Babelsberg Starry Nights’ series will once again take place live on site at the Babelsberg research campus. The dates are: 14 October, 18 November, 11 December 2025, 19 February, 19 March and 16 April 2026, each at 7:15 p.m. Details about the live events can be found here:

Our popular lecture series is also still continued online. Usually on the third Thursday of each month, a new lecture by an AIP scientist is broadcast on the YouTube channel Urknall, Weltall und das Leben or videowissen. Observation evenings in the Great Refractor
The Great Refractor on Telegrafenberg can be experienced in action during winter from November 2025 to March 2026: Visitors get to look at the stars through the historical telescope during our observation evenings. The dates are listed here:
