Prof. Dr. Katja Poppenhäger
Katja Poppenhäger leitet die Abteilung "Sternphysik und Exoplaneten" am AIP und ist Professorin an der Universität Potsdam. Sie untersucht Exoplaneten und ihre Atmosphären, insbesondere hinsichtlich ihrer Interaktion mit der Umgebung, die vom Zentralstern durch Strahlung und magnetische Effekte erzeugt wird. Ihre Forschungsgruppe verwendet sowohl Beobachtungen in verschiedenen Wellenlängenbereichen als auch numerische Simulationen, um Explaneten und ihre Zentralsterne besser zu verstehen.
