Dr. Kriti Gupta

Hi, I am Kriti Kamal Gupta, a postdoc in the X-ray Astronomy group at AIP.

Research Interests:

I am interested in multi-wavelength studies of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) to understand their accretion and emission properties across their wide variety. Specifically, I want to explore the role of the Eddington ratio in controlling the accretion physics and evolution of the inner regions of AGN. I mainly work with observational data in the optical, UV, and X-ray bands, but have also been part of radio and infrared studies of AGN.

About me:

I was previously employed at the Universities of Liège and Ghent in Belgium, where I worked on Quadruply Lensed Quasars to constrain their physical properties and to predict microlensing of the AGN torus in the mid-infrared.

For my Ph.D., I carried out one of the largest multi-wavelength studies of local AGN by modelling their optical-to-X-ray SEDs and estimating multi-band bolometric corrections. I completed my Ph.D. at Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile, under the supervision of Prof. Claudio Ricci.
