A week full of light

3 November 2015. Inspired by the UN International Year of Light and light-based Technologies 2015, Potsdam’s science forum („Wissenschaftsetage“) will be hosting a series of public events during the coming week and onwards.

Starting on Monday, November 9th, the exhibition „Window to the Universe“ features unique images from space and cosmic simulations. The exhibition will remain in place and open to the public until January 23rd, 2016. A (German) introduction to the exhibition is given during a vernissage on November 12th, 7:30pm, directly following on a (German) public talk about the diffuse universe.  On November 11th, a science & dance performance about the oldest light from the universe invites German and non-German speakers to a very special lunch break. Three interactive students’ academies complete the programme of the thematic week.

All events are realized in cooperation by the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, by the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam, by the Max-Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and by the University of Potsdam, supported by the proWissen Potsdam initiative.
